Join Our Singing Circle in Mount Shasta!

Open the voice through somatic awareness, vocal play and uplifting songs. In this workshop, you will be guided through sounding practices to deepen the connection between the voice and the body and relax into the many possibilities of the voice. We will learn songs with layers and harmonies as well as exploring the voice as a sound channel.

These circles are a safe and inclusive space for learning and exploring vocal technique, harmony, intention and vibrational resonance. All voices welcome! No previous singing experience is necessary to enjoy this experience! (Seasoned singers are also welcome!) For those who are shy, group singing is a great way to jump into singing while developing vocal technique and cultivating a greater sense of freedom with your voice. Resonance is magic. If funds are an issue, contact me to learn about community access discounts.

Facilitated by Sophie Cooper

Sophie Cooper is a singer, songwriter, voice coach, filmmaker, mother and lifelong student of personal healing and collective transformation. As a voice coach, she brings together many years of dedication to ceremonial practices, tools gathered from numerous sound and voice teachers, and over 10 years of somatic study as a Qigong practitioner. She is the founder of Voice Alchemy where she offers voice lessons and singing workshops in support of vocal liberation and  empowerment. In 2016 she released an album of original music entitled Rewilding.

Sophie’s work – as an artist and a vocal guide – is driven by her reverence for music’s ability to facilitate deeper relationality between individuals and our more-than-human kin, both seen and unseen. Her personal journey of healing through sound unfolded while visiting and learning from ancient wisdom practices from around the world, as well as from studying the lineages of her ancestors, including the song lines of the Celtic and Jewish traditions. Sophie was raised at the base of Buliyum Puyuuk, the traditional homelands of the Winnemem Wintu Tribe (presently known as Mount Shasta). She has recently returned to live with this beautiful mountain once again, now with her husband and two radiant children.
